He has published widely in the field of
disability management and industrial rehabilitation. He is
recognized as a leading authority on disability management and
worksite rehabilitation programs. He
is a former commissioner for the Certification of Disability Management
Specialists Commission.
He pioneered the first transitional work
return programs in Ohio. He has consulted with many employers and
labor unions on disability management, transitional work return
programs and job accommodation.
He is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor
and a Licensed Professional Counselor. He received his masters and
doctoral degrees in rehabilitation at The Ohio State University.
He was a founding member of the
Accreditation Council for Ambulatory Health Care of the Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, served on
its Standards and Survey Procedures Committee and served as a
surveyor for many years.
He has been a surveyor for CARF - The
Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission, for 18 years and is Team
Coordinator for the survey teams. He also served on the National
Advisory Council on Disability Management for CARF.
He is a Fellow of the American College in
Healthcare Executives and received his masters degree in hospital
and medical administration from the University of
Pittsburgh.
